Course Instructors

CANADA SHANNON has served as an educator teaching adults, young people and children for over thirty years. Canada participated in the education of an entire generation who grew up in the Reality-Way of Adidam; serving their academic, cultural, religious, and artistic education. Over the past ten years Canada has authored courses for the Adidam Academy, the Global Cooperation Project, and the Vision of Mulund Institute.

In 1999 and 2000 she initiated online/teleconference education for the Adidam Academy and the Vision of Mulund Institute (respectively). Canada is presently teaching courses for both the Adidam Academy and the Global Cooperation Project. She lives in Northern California near the Mountain of Attention Sanctuary. Canada has been a devotee of Avatar Adi Da Samraj since 1973.

ANNE HENDERSON has been a devotee of Avatar Adi Da's since 1976. She has served Adidam as a writer, editor, educator, and public speaker since 1982, and as a chronicler of Bhagavan Adi Da's Life and Spiritual Work between 1993 and 1999.

In addition to being part of the teaching staff at the Laughing Man Institute, Anne currently hosts and directs the Adidam Study Group program and serves the Third Congregation of Adidam.

STEVE ALEXANDER became a devotee of Adi Da in 1984. Since then he has performed a variety of services including head priest, retreat manager and ashram manager, at The Mountain Of Attention Sanctuary in California, U.S.A. For the last five years, Steve has assisted in the fabrication of Adi Da Samraj's Divine Image-Art. He also runs Adidam Photography which supplies devotees with Murtis and Photographs of Adi Da.

DENNIS COCCARO Dennis has been a devotee of Adi Da since the late 1970's, primarily based in New York City. His first formal Darshan (Sighting) of Adi Da was in 1979, spending much time over the years on retreat in Adi Da's Company. He has served as educator, priest and outreach manager in response to Adi Da and the Gifts and Blessings He Gives. Dennis' background is in education, and he worked as a hospital financial manager in NYC for most of his career. Now retired, he serves full time in education and cultural services for Adidam New York and the worldwide community.

DEAN NUGENT has a Masters degree in English Literature and Philosophy and is also a teacher and educator at the Auckland University of Technology where he teaches courses for university and secondary teachers including post-graduate studies in learning and teaching. He has published on teacher education pedagogy and spiritual aspects of adult education.

Dean has been a formal student of Adi Da Samraj for over twenty years and a presenter and educator in Adidam for many years.

PAUL AUGSPURGER has been a formal devotee of Avatar Adi Da Samraj since 1982, which has been a transformative Grace for which he is eternally grateful. He did undergraduate studies in music and English at Yale University and Missouri State University and then spent a decade playing bass in jazz groups in the US midwest.

As a devotee, he was an editor for the Dawn Horse Press for ten years, and has served Adidam education (both for devotees and outreach education) as a writer and instructor for two decades, service that he loves. Since 1982, Paul (originally from Kansas City, and then Springfield, Missouri) has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, at the Mountain Of Attention Sanctuary in northern California, at the Adidam center in Chicago, and at Adi Da Samrajashram. He currently resides in the Washington DC area, where he lives and practices in a household of strong (and fortunately tolerant) devotees, serves Adidam as a writer and course instructor, and plays jazz gigs in the city.
